Today is my last evening on the East Coast of Canada. Tomorrow evening I will be flying from Toronto to Vancouver on the West Coast of Canada. New adventures and discoveries await me and I'm looking forward to it :) Due to the time difference, I will arrive two hours later according to the clock. However, the flight will take about five hours in total. This once again shows how huge this country is. Today was the last highlight for me. I started early from Kingston towards Toronto. The drive was a bit difficult today because there was a lot of traffic around Toronto, and in the morning I filled my bottle with coffee that I brewed in the motel. This led to me having to exit the six-lane highway several times to find the restroom, which was not easy. After about five hours of driving, I arrived in Niagara Falls and rested in my motel. Then I grabbed my camera and walked towards the waterfalls. I walked through a kind of old mini Las Vegas. Oh man, I didn't like that at all. Super touristy and like a huge amusement park, I imagined it differently somehow. And so the 'disappointment' continued when I stood by the water and thought, 'Okay cool, but is this it???' Ever since I first heard about the Falls in 6th grade geography class and saw many videos and pictures, I knew that one day I wanted to see it for real. Today was the day, and it turned out differently. For one thing, I was bothered by the huge surroundings, as I already mentioned. Furthermore, because of the mist, you can hardly see anything from the waterfalls, and I thought it would be a bit bigger. Well, it wasn't bad, but just different from what I expected. I actually found the waterfall in Quebec somehow more beautiful and exciting. Ultimately, I didn't participate in any of the tourist attractions, such as a boat ride to the falls or the experience behind the falls where you can walk behind the waterfall. It was all too much for me, so I observed the falls from the edge and thought, it's a pity that such a natural wonder has to be exploited in such a touristy way. The good thing is, I saved a lot of dollars again. Well, after that, I made my way back to the motel. Along the way, I had something to eat and bought a few things for tomorrow, so I don't have to rely on the expensive options at the airport. Back at the motel, I slowly started packing. This included wine in a paper cup, as I had forgotten to finish my wine in the past few days, today was the day :) The next entry will be from Vancouver, until then...
