A short trip to Rotterdam with a slightly different ship class :). A review of a trip in February 2022 under corona conditions.
For me, it was actually the first time on an AIDA ship of the Hyperion class. Now the ship offers more in certain respects than the Sphinx class, including the patio deck (picture 2) for suite guests. This time I also had the pleasure of being a junior suite guest. Another nice welcome extra as a junior suite guest is a bottle of champagne that awaits you :). Another nice advantage, especially on 'colder' trips, is the conservatory, which can be completely opened in good weather.
Now my trip took me from Vienna by plane to Hamburg, where I was allowed on board AIDAprima. In the evening, we set sail from the illuminated Hamburg. (Picture 3) After a relaxing day at sea, we finally reached Rotterdam early in the morning (Picture 4). There, too, we were greeted by a sea of lights. The view of the illuminated skyline is simply breathtaking.
At 10 o'clock in the morning, we set off on time with the excursion bus to Amsterdam. There was also a lot to explore here, with many abstract buildings that can be best viewed on a canal cruise. (Picture 5)
In the evening, back on AIDA prima, we admired the skyline of Rotterdam in the twilight. (Pictures 6, 7, 8)
A special extra from AIDAprima in the winter months is the ice rink on the high seas (Picture 9). I can really only recommend trying it out :). Actions such as ice stock shooting can also take place on board.
In picture 10 you can see an impression of the sea day on the way back to Hamburg. A beautiful view of the open sea from the Skywalk of AIDAprima. It's also a view that you don't have on all AIDA ships. Currently, you can find the Skywalk on AIDA prima, perla & cosma.
A beautiful trip comes to an end and I return home with new experiences and many new pictures.
