Our way takes us today to the west coast to the Atlantic Ocean. The coast is known for its shipwrecks and mines.
It's strange to drive through a desert and then suddenly be by the sea. The weather at this time of year is also very special. There are low clouds hanging over the coast and it's quite misty.
Cape Cross is well known for its seal colony. And if you're traveling along the west coast of Namibia, you have to stop there. That's what we did too. We didn't have to look for the seals either. On the one hand, the colony consists of between 25,000 and 100,000 animals, and on the other hand, you can simply follow the smell.
You have to smell something like this, so it's recommended to breathe through your mouth. But it's very fascinating to watch these animals.
On the way to today's destination Swakopmund, we were able to listen to German radio. Swakopmund is still very influenced by the Germans, which is why there is German radio and also a German newspaper.
