Today I drove to Khao Sok National Park and will stay here for 4 nights. The journey in a minibus alone was really impressive. Khao Sok National Park is one of the oldest rainforests in the world and is dotted with limestone cliffs. Upon arriving at my resort, I settled into my small hut and was impressed by the diversity of nature.
In the evening, I went on a guided night safari. At exactly 7 pm, we drove to the 'entrance' of the national park, where our guide was waiting for us. We then walked through the rainforest with headlamps for about 1.5 hours and saw all kinds of creatures. There were spiders of all sizes. We also saw birds, chameleons, an owl, frogs, and apparently an animal that was supposed to look like a dog and one like a cat. Unfortunately, I didn't see these animals. I was with two Russian couples and apparently they didn't quite understand that speaking loudly scares away the animals. Even though we didn't see any 'special' animals, this walk alone, off the beaten path, was very impressive. On the way back, a palm-sized spider suddenly descended from the trees right in front of us and jumped around on the ground...
Unfortunately, there are no photos because you couldn't see anything in the darkness...
