Liebe Grüße aus Hawai‘i

Hello everyone!

I don't want to make you jealous, but I'm currently lying on the beach on the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawai‘i, it's such a dream here! I'm so glad that I could still travel here because Covid still looks bad unfortunately, but with a negative test and a few filled out documents, we were allowed to fly the 6 hours from California here. By the way, I just got the Covid vaccination in Los Angeles, which I'm very happy about!

I've found 4 other German au pairs who all wanted to go to Hawai‘i at the same time as me, and we met at the airport in Maui. They are all very nice and we have a lot of fun together and the best time here, I'm so happy!

We spent the first 6 days on the island of Maui and now we're spending another 6 days on the island of Oahu, where the capital Honolulu is located. We've already snorkeled, dived, done two boat tours where we saw dolphins and a lot of whales, even with their babies, explored the city and surroundings, hiked, and of course relaxed on the beach. The sea here is 25°C so you can even go swimming, you just have to be careful with the big waves.

Hawai‘i is my absolute favorite place, I would come back right away or even stay here, but unfortunately, it's so far away from Germany. In any case, I'm still enjoying my last vacation days here, I definitely deserve them.

Afterwards, I will spend a week in LA with Jana, then a few days in Boston with my first host family, and in about 2 weeks, I will already be going back to my home country! I'm very excited to see all of you again! However, I still have to do some Covid tests and quarantine.
