Hello everyone!
I hope you are doing well!
I am finally getting back to you, a lot has happened in the last 3 months.
On Christmas, I still had to work because December 25th is considered Christmas in America. It was tough for me to spend my second Christmas without my family. But when I finished work in the evening, I went to Jana, a good friend of my mom's whom I am very close to, and celebrated Christmas with her family, which was very nice. The next day, a friend and I started our 9-day road trip to different national parks (NP). The first on the list was Zion NP in Utah, where we drove for 6 hours with a rental car, of course, a Jeep. It was very beautiful and impressive! It sometimes looked like we were on a different planet there. Next, we went to Bryce NP, where it was snowing and therefore very cold, but the view was even more beautiful because of it.
The third stop was Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. We really thought we were standing in front of a green screen because the view was so extreme that we couldn't believe it was real. We were a bit shaky when taking pictures because the cliffs were so steep and deep.
From there, the drive to the famous Grand Canyon NP wasn't far. When we arrived, we were immediately shocked by the impressive view into the huge canyon. The sunset made it even more special.
Next, we went to Monument Valley, where the famous scene in Forrest Gump was filmed. Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with the weather and could hardly see anything. We spent the night in a small cabin in the middle of nowhere. The next day, we hiked to the Devil's Bridge. It's hard to believe that it was naturally formed. Then we drove to Las Vegas on Route 66 to spend New Year's Eve there. Sounds exciting, but nothing happened there because of Covid. My friend and I toasted with homemade mulled wine in our Airbnb.
The last stop was Valley of Fire in Nevada. The coolest attraction there was the Fire Wave. The minerals in the sandstone have developed different colors in the rock over time.
America has so much to offer, especially incredible, breathtaking nature. Our trip was truly beautiful and unforgettable.
