Today, I had an omelette for my daily Frappe, and I have to say that I didn't like it here (I have it daily at home), so I will probably continue to have scrambled eggs here.
In the morning, I went to Elaiochorio and saw many surprised but happy faces. The joy of reunion was great and very surprising. We will meet again tonight and probably spend more time together.
From there, I visited my new secluded accommodation, which I will move into on the 22nd of July. The departure from the former bypass highway to the house is a slightly worse dirt road, which you would never suspect leads to the accommodation. That's why Eve and I didn't find the way there back then. But funnily enough, we turned around exactly on this dirt road :-) I'm really looking forward to spending the 8 booked nights there alone and in seclusion. That's just what I need to relax and find myself.
On the way back, I went to the ancient Byzantine castle of Anaktoropolis in Nea Peramos for the first time, as far as I can remember, to take photos there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaktoropolis There I had to realize that it's not very smart to have a telephoto lens on the camera and the other lens in the accommodation. Well, then I had to rely on my good old smartphone. The photos should still be sufficient.
From there, I photographed the entire Nea Peramos and had to realize that I don't like the look of the place from the outside anymore. Luckily, I don't notice that in the village and on the beach promenade.
Then I bought the essentials for the next 2 days and brought everything to the accommodation. Here I enjoyed a wonderful cherry juice that Eve had bought specially but didn't drink.
Then I left for the neighboring village shortly before 6:00 p.m.
Oh boy, speaking of Eve not drinking, I think I've had more good Tsipouro in the last 3 hours than in the whole year before, hiccups.
The meeting with Eleni and Stavros was just fantastic, despite certain language barriers. It was an experience in itself to meet their daughter Christina again after 27 years (she was 4 at the time). She strongly reminds me of her mother at that time, both in her open, warm and loving nature and in her appearance. Such a girl, or rather such people, you just want to pack up and take with you, because you immediately get a completely different feeling of life and you just want to surround yourself with such people, without any ulterior motives.
So it was a very warm, nice and enjoyable evening that you don't want to miss. That's why we will meet again the day after tomorrow for lunch together :-) This is what I love about Greece, in addition to the landscape, the warmth, openness, and friendship of the people.
Unfortunately, I also found out that our other acquaintance/friend is not doing well and is probably in the hospital. I will try to find out more and possibly visit him.
On the way to the accommodation, I quickly bought toilet paper because I had forgotten it at noon.
I wish you a lot of fun reading and looking at the pictures.
