Day 5

This morning Simi and Jana made a fire and porridge with about 10 raisins and without sugar. We still got full.

Shortly after the sun finally reached our spot, we set off, a little later than planned.

It was a beautiful hike through blooming dry meadows and fairytale-like woods.

The climate seemed much more southern. Lizards enjoyed the hot sun and dozens of grasshoppers flew through the air with every step.

Shortly before Valezan, the valley opened up and we again had a beautiful, wide panorama. We arrived in the village at noon and were once again spoiled by nature. We could pick pears, apples, mirabelles, and especially plums from the trees.

For lunch, we sat at a table for the first time in what felt like an eternity. We had a mixed menu with the things we still had.

After cooling our heads a few times in the cold fountain, we continued our journey.

With every step, it got hotter and the last hour in the valley towards Landry was quite tough. But we made it and found the small shop at the end of the village where we wanted to replenish our supplies. We were half an hour early, so we dozed off a bit at an abandoned campsite, where we could also charge our electronic devices.

The shop was rather sparsely stocked and we had to change our menu plans. At least there was still cheese and two small breads.

After having an ice cream, we set off again. The upcoming ascent didn't motivate us much, so we stuck out our thumbs. Promptly, the first car stopped and gave us a ride to Peisey-Nancroix.

After hitchhiking, our spirits were up again and we decided to cover some more distance despite the late hour.

Finally, we found a very, very beautiful spot by the river above the Chalet-Refuge de Rosuel.
