The next morning, we drove from the last campsite to our campground where we wanted to spend our next night. From there, we started our hike:
We initially hiked for about two hours until we arrived at a lake in the middle of nowhere. At first glance, the lake didn't look particularly spectacular. To be honest, compared to the Blue Pools, it looked very dirty. But upon closer inspection, we discovered the impressive things. A huge glacier that extends into the water. Huge mountains surrounding the lake, also covered by glaciers, and waterfalls that reach from the mountain peaks to the lake. The water of the lake looked very milky because there were a lot of minerals in the water.
Brayden and I saw some icebergs floating in the water in the distance. After a while, we decided to go to the icebergs. After about 45 minutes of climbing along the shore, we reached the iceberg and swam to one of the icebergs. It was also the first time on an iceberg for Brayden, the Canadian, and an exciting experience for both of us.
The video probably shows you the day the best. For me, one of the best experiences here in New Zealand!
