The last days have been filled with work, relaxation, and activities such as picking strawberries, surfing, white-water rafting, playing cards, and swimming. Together with Hasan, Robin, Laura, Lotta, Amelia, Maya, Hendrik, and Theo, I explored the area and had a lot of fun. We played 'Dutch' and 'Doppelkopf', went on a 'hike', and of course worked.
Our work days went from early 6/7 AM to 12/1 PM, and we also took a break at 10:00 AM that sometimes stretched out exponentially longer. On average, I picked around 12 kg in 5 hours. We were paid cash in hand, and Aaron (our boss) had some funny conversations with us. He even came to visit us at the campsite for a drink. Odd but a reliable guy.
In the past weeks, I have naturally faced some hurdles again. I was out for 3 days because I got stung by a bee. And now my wetsuit for surfing has been stolen, but these things can be overcome more easily in good company and a nice environment.
We are eating pasta, rice, kumara, chicken, and back to pasta again. Tomorrow we head to Tauranga to work again.
