June 4th - June 5th, 2021
After Pia's birthday, we both felt really exhausted and sick. We were a bit annoyed by that because these were our last days and getting a cold at that time was not uplifting. So, on Wednesday and Thursday, we tried to recover as best as we could in the dormitory. It was also the last week when everyone we had gotten to know during the time was still there. After that, everyone scattered across the country on their different trips, with many meeting again in Lofoten. Later, it would be time for all of us to return to our home countries. That's why it was necessary to celebrate together on Friday evening in the park next to the university. It's a strange feeling to know that you won't see 95% of the people again. Others who had already completed a semester abroad said that only a handful of people would remain with whom you would still keep in touch. What I also learned that evening was that Pia and I would have an advantage in Kiel: we could continue talking about this time and immerse ourselves in memories, while the others would return to their world without having an exchange with someone from the same world.
The evening was beautiful and I actually talked to four close Norwegians. The content of the conversation was highly stupid though, one of them wanted to convince me that he was a chef for Oxlade-Chamberlain from FC Liverpool and also knew Jürgen Klopp well. The guy was about my age. But in the end, I managed to talk to Norwegians during my stay in Norway. Later, some people had the idea of watching the sunrise on the Fløyen. However, the circumstances of Pia and me recommended that we go back to Fantoft and go to bed instead.
The next day we actually wanted to relax a bit and just take a short walk. We walked along the opposite side of the fjord, which is located at the Gamlehaugen Castle. At some point, Pia suggested that we quickly run to Gullstølen. And so we did, but what we both didn't remember was that the uphill path was not so short. It was pretty hot, we both wore the wrong clothes, and we sweated like crazy. And in the end, we didn't even find the ruins walls from our last visit. Instead, we found the real 'summit' of Gullstølen. We returned following the familiar paths on Løvstakken and quickly arrived back in Fantoft. Due to the short night and the extensive walk, we were exhausted by the end of the day and did not plan a big evening program.
