The province of Ouarzazate is located in the south of Morocco. The capital city of the province is actually just a village, consisting of a main street and some side streets. The Moroccan film industry is located in the province, sometimes called 'Mollywood'.
The Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou is a popular filming location. The small desert city has appeared in many movies, including 'Gladiator'. It has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. The journey to reach it is quite adventurous, crossing the Atlas Mountains.
Adjacent to it are the Atlas Corporation Studios, which feature various film sets, modern film technology, and sound studios.
