Day 13: Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea

បោះពុម្ពផ្សាយ: 28.09.2016

We spontaneously decided to stay one more day in Monterey and continue driving on Highway #1 tomorrow.

Arriving at the Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, we first inspected the pirate ship that can be seen from a distance :)

The replica of a trading ship is open for visitors.

Afterwards, we rented a sporty two-seater and explored the beach promenade.

One of the destinations was Lover Point, and true to its name, weddings often take place here. Just like on this day.

In the afternoon, we explored the prettiest and most expensive place on the entire west coast, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Clint Eastwood was the mayor here for a long time :)

It's a whole different world... mega mansions, mega cars (Tesla Model S and BMW i8 are highly popular), and a super beautiful place. The residents, with their typically groomed giant poodles, were bustling around the numerous wine tasting venues.

Tomorrow, we will continue on Highway #1, which is probably the most beautiful stretch. From Carmel to San Simeon.

Greetings
Steffi and Axel
