After a balanced breakfast, we leave Port Lincoln with the goal of Coober Pedy. The navigation system shows 878km - what a joy!😭
We drive along the coast until Port Augusta, to leave civilization behind once again.
As we move away from the coast, the landscape also changes. At first, we see endless pastures and wheat fields, which after what feels like an eternity, turn into small groves. But the closer we get to the interior of the country, the smaller the trees become. The forest turns into bushes and eventually, there is only steppe as far as the eye can see.
Suddenly, in the distance, some small mountains appear, but behind the mountains, there is steppe again.
About 200km before Coober Pedy, we look for a place to rest and spend the night. We find a nice parking space on the right side of the road, even with a few trees. Only endless plains surround us. There, we let the last hours of the day pass in the heat and get to observe a beautiful sunset and later, an overwhelming starry sky. Except for one or two bats, our camper stands there, lonely, waiting for the morning hours.
