The week in Torre del Mar flew by. We had a great time, spent a lot of time on the beach and in the little town. Peter used the wind for surfing and found out that it's much more difficult with waves than on Malter. :-) This prompted him to head to a surf school at our next stop in Tarifa.
We also didn't miss any of the fancy beach bars and cafes along the promenade, where we tested their coffee and cocktail specialties. And once we treated ourselves to real Andalusian paella, which almost made me forget my aversion to seafood. - I just can't get used to what the table looks like after you've dismantled the crab. =)
On our last day on the Costa del Sol, we spent time in Malaga. Like the other Spanish cities, it impresses with exciting modern architecture, traditional facades, and imposing cathedrals. The old Roman theater in the historic old town is almost fully preserved and transports you to another time when you pass by. In stark contrast, we then strolled along the modern harbor promenade and came across everything from cargo ships and numerous cruise ships to warships. Berno got his first blue helium balloon at the Mexican restaurant and was entertained for the rest of the day, so we could end the excursion in peace with nachos and Co.
