On Sunday we will continue to Bolnuevo - and arrive in the afternoon at the Playa de Mazarro campsite right by the sea. When we arrived, it was 24 degrees and I dared to complain briefly about the heat. In fact, it started pouring rain like crazy later that same night, so the temperatures were terribly cold at the beginning of the week, at just 9 degrees. Our pitch neighbor (a grandpa :-) ) tells us that he has been spending his winter here for 15 years and has only experienced 5 rainy days in all those years, of which 2 were actually just nights. ...Well, now he has counted 7 rainy days. :-/ They really want us to believe that it's lucky to experience rain here - in one of the driest regions of Europe. But we are also lucky ones :D
Well, we've spent the two bad days with a stroll through Cartagena and cooking experiments with shrimp and co. The weather is clearing up now and the next few days are supposed to be super nice, so we want to stay here a little longer. Right in the town there are the 'Gredas de Bolnuevo' - bizarre formations made of sedimentary rock that provide special photo material. (Photos will follow) But above all, we are staying because of the upcoming good surf conditions and the dreamy sunsets.
