This morning I got up extra early to make the most of the day. After a one-hour train ride๐ along the coast to the north, I arrived at the Glass House Mountainsโฐ, a national park with several wooded "mountains". The name is attributed to James Cook. When he mapped the east coast of Australia๐บ in the 18th century, the mountain formations reminded him of blast furnaces from his home.
My goal was to climb Mount Beerburrum. Although the trail to the summit was not very far, it was very steep๐ฅพ. The view was fantastic! From the summit, you have a beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains, and you can even see the skyline of Brisbane to the south.
After that, I continued by train and bus to the sea, where I made a stop in a town called "Caloundra". The coastal town is known for its beach promenade with cafรฉsโ๏ธ, restaurants๐ฝ, and art galleries๐ผ. I especially enjoyed the walk along the beach, where I met many people surfing. After a picnic๐ฅช, I took the bus to Noosa Heads.
This is where I will be staying for the next three nights. Noosa has been highly recommended to me by many people. The national park๐ฟ right by the ocean is wonderful, the sandy beaches are fabulous, and the town, with its restaurants, cafรฉs, and small shops, is definitely worth a visit.
Very tired from the previous day, I arrived at my backpacker๐งณin the evening. I am sharing a room with two travelers from Germany๐ฉ๐ช. They have been in Australia for several weeks as well. We quickly got to know each other and then went out for a delicious Mexican dinner.๐ฎ
