After the detour to the Grampian Mountains, we returned to the coast: the Great Ocean Road was on the agenda. As soon as we arrived, the road greeted us with the long-awaited echidna, which was feeding on the roadside.
Otherwise, our stay in this region was quite rewarding. In addition to many spectacular rock formations, wild beaches, and magnificent cliffs, there were also some longer, somewhat boring sections that did not run along the coast, but overall the route is very beautiful. It also traverses the Great Otway National Park, which extends far into the hinterland from the coast. There we went on several hikes and saw another echidna and more koalas in addition to beautiful landscapes.
