Hi guys,
today was another day where this country showed us how unpredictable it is. After waking up calmly, having breakfast, and enjoying the fact that the weather was better again after 3 days of rain, we continued further south to the 'Hokitika Gorge'. Here we expected a light blue river in a beautiful mountain landscape under a suspension bridge, because that's what it always looked like in photos. Full of anticipation, we went to the mountain river and when we arrived, I couldn't stop smiling. The amazingly beautiful mountain river on the photos turned out to be a cement-colored, or in other words gray soup. The reason for this was that due to the rain of the past few days, many stone particles from the mountains had found their way down the river. You could call it bad luck, but I've never seen anything like it, which is why it was still something special and really cool.
Afterwards, we drove to our campsite where we spent the rest of the day. The place is right next to the 'Franz Josef Glacier', which we want to visit tomorrow. I am very excited and I hope the weather plays along!😊
Greetings from Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand!🇳🇿
Yours, Tim!😊
