The decision to drive to Vancouver as fast as possible was good. From deep winter to midsummer in three days. The city is indescribably beautiful. No matter which direction you move, you always head towards the ocean and/or the snow-covered mountains.
We have a campsite about an hour's Skytrain ride from downtown. Anyone can be the driver, you just have to secure the spot up front and off you go.
Just like at home, there are also homeless people at every corner. Noticeable are the many drunk people in all stages of neglect. Nevertheless, the city appears friendly and we are amazed by the many small beautiful things that open up everywhere. On one hand, it is a typical North American big city, on the other hand, everything seems less brutal, including the architecture. The buildings have a maximum of 20 floors, all apartments have balconies, and all houses look different. We even have a regular pub that we visit on Hamburger night and Taco night.
In the many parks, the most diverse animals frolic, and the whales frolic off the coast. We are there.
After four days, we say goodbye a little bit wistful and get ready to rock the Rockies.
