After breakfast, we took the bus back to Fisherman's Wharf. Once we arrived, we bought caps first, as the sun from the previous day left clear marks, mainly on our foreheads. So equipped for another sunny day, we headed to Pier 33 to start the tour to Alcatraz (The Rock). We took a boat to the former high-security prison. A great audio tour led us through the impressive cell blocks and told us interesting facts about life on Alcatraz.
Back on the mainland, we took the bus to the Golden Gate Bridge and crossed the famous bridge after changing buses. Meanwhile, it has become significantly foggy and really cold. In Sausalito (opposite of San Francisco): the most beautiful sunshine, unbelievable. Back in San Francisco, we continued with the open double-decker bus to explore more of the city and return to the starting point of the tour. Freezing cold, we also walked to Lombard Street, the world's most famous switchback road. To end the day, we took the cable car back to the hotel.
