My program today was simple, yet exhausting. I started with a coffee in Inverness, followed by a 3 hours and 43 minutes train ride to Edinburgh. I had another coffee there and then continued with a 4 hours and 49 minutes train ride to London Kings Cross. Finally, I went through the underground to Victoria Station, ending my journey where I started. Since my Interrail pass is only valid for today, I had to think about the return journey and leave beautiful Scotland behind. It was still raining in Inverness, so I didn't mind leaving there. However, the weather in Edinburgh was already beautiful again, which could have tempted me to stay longer.
Fun fact: The Inverness Scouts all wear a kilt as part of their scout uniform ;-)
There wasn't much new to see on the way, as I chose the wrong side of the train for the North Sea coast. However, the nuclear power plants here are huge, like the one in Selby.
It rained occasionally on the way, but the weather in London is great again. After checking in, I had to stretch my legs a bit, as a 9-hour train ride is not easy...
I will stay in London for a few more days, although the hostel where I initially stayed was already fully booked. Fortunately, I found another one nearby in the same price range, the PubLove@The White Ferry, Victoria. I always wanted to stay in one of those corner houses :-D
