Last night and this morning in Somoto, I put on a sweater to eat. As we drove south today, the temperatures rose. And my mood sank. Hot, loud, crowded. And yet I had no reason to complain. The first bus from Somoto to Estelí wasn't very crowded. In Estelí, we caught an express bus that we didn't even know was running at this time. In this bus line, only the seats are assigned, so no one stands in the aisle and pushes their backpack or elbow into your face. From Tipitapa, there is also an express bus, which was so full that we could barely squeeze in. In Masaya, we switched to a chicken bus and that's when I started to get annoyed. It was so hot, you stuck to the plastic seats, and a whole brigade of street vendors invaded the bus. They always shout so loudly, can't they show a little consideration? I would have liked to stand up so that the breeze could dry my damp pants, but as soon as a seat becomes available, you're asked from all sides to sit down. They don't understand that you want to stand voluntarily. We took almost two hours less for the return journey, but I've had enough of public transportation for now. I don't want strangers pressing against me and making me even warmer. I want to drink something ice cold, alone in my seat, undisturbed by big bellies and butts. I sound like a spoiled child, but I don't care.

There is no more refrigerator at home, completely dead.

Tomorrow it will be a stupid 33 degrees with, ugh, 12 hours of sunshine, only moderate east wind with damn 80% humidity
