The accommodation we found in Mühlberg as a replacement for the Forsthaus Dröschkau was more than just a replacement. It was perfect in every way. The small extra charge for an extended breakfast was worth it. However, the efforts of the previous day obviously had their effects, at least on me. I actually set off without my bike bags. I had prepared them in the courtyard and then left them there. That alone wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't realized it after a whopping 30 km. It's a mystery to me that I didn't realize it during several short stops, nor did Dietrich, who was riding behind me for 90% of the route. It's so unimaginable that I pondered for a long time whether I should mention it at all at this point. Thank goodness we didn't have to go back, which would have been very difficult against the wind and would have messed up our schedule. Dietrich's friend Uwe was kind enough to drive from Dresden to Mühlberg by car and get the bags, which was also an action of about 3 hours. Again, all's well that ends well. The rest is quickly reported. The path along the Elbe became increasingly hilly and the cyclist traffic increased significantly. We had our lunch break today in Meißen. Here we took an elevator with our bikes up to Albrechtsburg and then walked through the old town. Due to a lack of secure transportation capacity, we decided not to buy any porcelain. Thanks to a strong tailwind again, we arrived in Dresden at 3 p.m., where Uwe picked us up at the beer garden at the Blue Wonder, just like two years ago.
