On the first day back in Taipei, the route naturally leads to Taipei 101. Since I was already on the viewing platform, I went to the shopping mall. Every luxury brand imaginable has a shop here. So I'm here less to shop. But the architecture of the building is impressive. It is built in an arch shape on the inside and nestles against the 101, which you can also see in the building.
Even the underground car park is, in our opinion, something special, offering not only parking spaces for 1,839 cars, but also parking spaces for 2,990 scooters.
Not far away is the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
Sun Yat-sen is the founder of the Chinese Republic. It's an impressive building. There is a statue of Sun-Yan-sen in the main hall. The changing of the guard takes place there every hour. To ensure that everything sits correctly, there are even staff who put everything in order.
In the other rooms you will find various exhibitions. A large exhibition on the history of the republic, writings and art. In one section there was an exhibition of incredible, beautiful images. By chance the artist was also present and was able to say a few words about the creation and production of these pictures. Although taking photos of these pictures was forbidden, an exception was made for me and a Swiss woman who was also present.
It has now become dark - one last look back at the illuminated building and of course at Tapei 101 😊.
