So, today the plan was actually to go to Goris and Kornizor. But during the meeting with my contact person from the local relief organization, it turned out that he is too busy and doesn't have time for such tourist activities. Classic misunderstanding between my original contact and him, it happens. But at least we traveled together and tried to get me a permit to enter Karabakh. In a few days, I will know if I am allowed to go there.
So, develop a new plan and store some of the relief supplies that are stored in the van with him for now. There's no need to drive around aimlessly. From there, the further distribution will be organized, but maybe I'll take some with me when I continue my journey. But I have to rethink that for now.
Just when I stopped in the side street for further organization, I spotted a little boy who seemed to need a football and other things. So I gave him various equipment, and his eyes were shining. Here, small things can still make a big impact for us.
And then something very heartwarming happened. Minutes later, he came back with a dusty bicycle, which he apparently wanted to give me. Apparently, the sight of the bicycle on the roof of my car evokes so much sympathy that even the less fortunate think that support is needed here.
On the drive to Yerevan, I was able to get a closer look at the TV tower. It is an impressive structure, and I assume that the legendary Yerevan TV station is located here.
The rest of the day flew by. I chatted with locals, read guidebooks, and before I knew it, it was evening. In the meantime, I got a glimpse into the collecting passion of an Armenian man. He showed me an Adolf Hitler memorial coin from 1935, which he claimed was made of silver.
It is always astonishing what manages to make its way into the world and still finds interested people there.
And then, after a short game of pool and a delicious dinner with two locals here at the hotel, the day was over.
