Arrived in Santiago!

Hello everyone! Yesterday morning, after a really long flight, we finally arrived in Santiago! The brother of a friend here was kind enough to pick us up and take us to our apartment. The area where we live is very nice, relatively quiet and family-friendly, and (based on our first impression) belongs to the more upscale neighborhoods in Santiago. The house and the apartment are very modern and we both felt comfortable right away, even though the apartment is a bit smaller than we thought. The first highlight yesterday was definitely the view of the pool and the roof (photos will follow). Otherwise, yesterday we first had to get SIM cards so that we can also be reached by phone here. By now, everything has worked out and you can write to us, then we will give you our Chilean phone numbers.

So far, we have a really good first impression of Santiago. It is cleaner and friendlier than I imagined, and especially in our neighborhood, it is quite green. Of course, the shining sun and the 30 degrees also contribute to a good mood!

Our first dinner in the new apartment didn't happen after we both fell asleep completely exhausted at 7 pm in the evening. 12 hours of sleep later, we started the day refreshed today. Now we already have to pack our things again and tomorrow morning we will start our journey to Arica (a small city way up north). So for the next two weeks, we will be on the road (but of course still reachable via mobile phone) and I will try to keep you updated here from time to time.
