Baseball & Huntington Beach II

Not every weekend allows for a road trip, which is why we took our Fiat two weekends ago to visit nearby Huntington Beach. With sunny blue skies and temperatures over 25 degrees, we strolled along the beach promenade and pier before laying out on the beach for a few hours.

Huntington Beach looks visually similar to Santa Monica. It has a long beach promenade with many cyclists and joggers, palm trees as far as the eye can see, a wide sandy beach, and plenty of surfers waiting for the next best wave.

On the same weekend, we also attended our first typical American baseball game of the Anaheim Angels. After a drive of less than 15 minutes, we stood in front of the huge stadium and were impressed by the generous offering of merchandise items. In addition to caps, t-shirts, water bottles, and other items were given away and raffled off. Inside the stadium, food stands lined up next to each other. The prices were outrageously expensive, but it was crazy to see how many Americans actually consumed full meals and invested a lot of money in snacks. The atmosphere in the stadium couldn't be compared to that of a soccer stadium. It was almost quiet and it seemed that the focus of the evening was more on the food than the sport itself!

Nevertheless, it was definitely worth experiencing the typical American lifestyle. The 'Dance-Cam' and 'Kiss-Cam', which are usually only seen on TV shows, were definitely quite funny, and when there was a home run, the atmosphere suddenly turned up to 110% including fireworks!
