There is some work to do.. During my stay abroad, I work for MDHellas Group. I can't tell you exactly what the company does. But the main activities include the placement of European interns (apprentices and students) with suitable companies, organizing accommodation for the interns, and job placement in Germany. There is also an employee here who is a freelance wedding planner.
There is also a subsidiary called MDHolidays, and I think that's actually who I work for. My main task is to further promote the idea of an international football tournament here in Heraklion. Unfortunately, I don't get in touch with service providers here, so my work is limited to preparatory planning and drafts. Occasionally, there are also tasks like translating a CV or creating an Excel spreadsheet.
If that doesn't keep me busy, I do some exam preparation and explore the German job market.
So how is my work in Greece? First of all: it's pretty relaxed and I hope my German employer allows me a few days to adjust after my return π Here we usually work 6 hours from 9 am to 3 pm, but it really doesn't matter down to the minute. This is partly due to the flexible departure times of the buses. On the other hand, the Greek culture here is just more laid back. That's very pleasant π The office and my workspace are smaller than what I'm used to in Germany. You have to consciously decide if you don't want to overhear other people's conversations. But if they are speaking Greek, it's not possible anyway π Otherwise, we communicate a lot in English and also in German.
Occasionally, the Wi-Fi causes some problems, but they are used to that here in the office. Other than that, the biggest (negative) peculiarities are that smoking is allowed in the office and there are surveillance cameras installed indoors π΅ββοΈ
All in all, I can do my tasks properly here, and I consider the relaxed and friendly work culture to be a big plus π
Since tomorrow is a holiday, the weekend already started today π₯³ I can feel the time flying by..
