Am late afternoon we landed again in Guayaquil and went back to the same accommodation as last time, because we were able to leave a piece of luggage here once again. We got some things for dinner and then both went to the hairdresser.
The next day finally called for a sleep-in. Today we visited the Santa Ana neighborhood. Colorful houses and villas of the once richest inhabitants are located along a steep staircase with 444 steps. After climbing it, a blue and white striped lighthouse and a panoramic view of the huge city awaited us on a platform. We walked back down, all sweaty because we had chosen the hottest day of the year. We walked again along the Malecon 2000 waterfront and then went to the Plaza de la Administracion with the town hall, some monuments and magnificent buildings. We relaxed for the rest of the day and enjoyed our vacation.
