The rest of Sunday...

បោះពុម្ពផ្សាយ: 30.09.2019

Afterwards, we went across the fjord. What's special about it is that I got to steer the boat.

There, we pulled the boat ashore and climbed over a few fences and walked through a sheep pasture. Then we came across a small monument. The man, Ingolf Arnasson, who was the first to settle in Iceland, actually comes from this place. They left because of a small blood feud with the neighboring tribe. Even the Icelandic president was present at the inauguration in the 1960s.

After that, we went back on the water, where we saw the place where the ferry used to dock between Dale and the other side of the fjord. In the picture, you can see the green meadow below it.

Afterwards, we set crab nets, which we filled with the leftovers of the fish. We will haul them in again on Monday.

This plastic container serves as a buoy.

In the evening, we went to the Nepalese couple who invited us for dinner. It was super delicious and also funny. In the end, we talked about languages and realized that we had 10 different languages in the group.

He also told us about the highest-ranking politician in Nepal. You have to know that hardly anyone speaks English in Nepal. The said politician went on a trip abroad to the USA, and when he came back, he said in an interview, 'The most surprising thing is that everyone there speaks English! Even the children!'

That ended this evening late, but we only had school the next day.
