3100 miles. Four states. Twelve accommodations.
This is the conclusion of the road trip. The experiences cannot be enumerated and what we have experienced during this time has been documented here in the previous weeks. The Toyota Corolla reliably took us to every point of the route. Tomorrow, we will set off with the car for one last time. The destination is Los Angeles International Airport.
Personally, I am somewhat nostalgic to say goodbye to our vehicle tomorrow. It was a very long journey that we completed in a short time, and above all, the drive through Death Valley has stayed in my mind. That wilderness there inspired respect in me and I was thankful and glad that everything went smoothly with the car there.
A word about today. We headed towards Santa Monica to test the beach there. The goal was to visit the neighborhood 'Venice'. Personally, I really liked the latter. After lunch, we went to the beach and Flo & Marie tested the Pacific Ocean for the first time today.
After a spectacular drive back to the hotel, we started packing our suitcases. It will be a short night for us and we hope that tomorrow everything will go smoothly on our way to our final stop, New York.
I don't know yet if I will write from New York. If this is not the case, rest assured that I will be fine and a final entry will appear at the latest after my return to Germany.
Best regards and good night from
LOS ANGELES
