Tag 1 # Start into the adventure AIDA # Departure from Palma de Mallorca

Today our AIDA adventure begins 🚢😊.

It's the first time we're going on a cruise, so we were quite excited. At 1 o'clock in the morning, we had to get up and go to Frankfurt Airport. When we arrived there, despite all the horror stories about airports, it actually looked quite relaxed and we went through quite quickly. But at the security check, we saw the extent of it - a huge long queue and only a few counters open. So it took a long time and after waiting for a good hour, we finally made it through. Off to the gate and there it was boarding time. Our plane took off on time towards Palma de Mallorca 🛫.

Because Aida had a little organizational problem, as announced in an email, we were taken to a small mill to have breakfast after landing at 7:30 am. It was okay and shortly before 10 o'clock we were already back in the shuttle heading towards the ship. Everything went smoothly during check-in and our cabin was already ready and the suitcases were outside the door. The cabin was great 👍 so we could start our vacation in a relaxed manner.

We grabbed our life jackets and went straight to the safety briefing so that we didn't have to do it in the evening. Everything done, it was already lunchtime and we decided to eat at the market restaurant on the first day. Super tasty and friendly staff, and so we went back to our cabin feeling strengthened and satisfied. 

After resting for an hour, we decided to use the time to explore the harbor area and walk towards the cathedral. But then we stopped at the Hardrock Café Mallorca and enjoyed having our first drink there comfortably. But then we went back because the way was already quite long, so that after a 2-hour walk we arrived back on the ship.

In the evening for dinner, we went to Bella Donna. There was also a great selection here and we had no complaints.

Feeling strengthened and overwhelmed by everything, we explored the ship a bit more and then went to the Anytime Bar for our first cocktail 🍹 until we finally went up to the end of the ship to find a nice view for the departure. 

At 10 o'clock it was "cast off" and we set sail with "Sail Away". Tears ran down my cheeks and I had goosebumps. This moment when you leave for the first time is unforgettable for me 🥰💖
