Norway 2023 in Numbers and Conclusion

បោះពុម្ពផ្សាយ: 20.06.2023

Conclusion: It was beautiful! Simply beautiful! A magnificent landscape🏔️, everything immaculate, very good infrastructure, well-developed roads... Norway is a great holiday destination!

My personal top 3 highlights were:

  1. Loen Skylift 💞
  2. Geirangerfjord 💓
  3. Trollstigen💗

However, it was not a relaxing holiday. We drove further almost every day. 26 days of vacation with 21 stops. As a result, we saw a lot, but it was also exhausting.

Driving and processing all the new impressions every day was sometimes challenging for me personally. I am someone who likes to stay in one place for 2 weeks and maybe take a day trip. Ingo, on the other hand, is more spontaneous and doesn't mind driving.

Because there is always either water or mountains "in the way" in Norway, you can't cover long distances in a day. Our average speed for the entire vacation was 68 km/h (so in Norway only 50).

In total, we drove 3429 km in 50.5 hours, including 145 tunnels with a total length of 180 km (of which 40 km were underwater).

In addition, there were 2 ferry trips of 136 km each between Denmark and Norway (each taking 3.25 hours) and 6 ferries in Norway covering 63 km.

We consumed 551 liters of diesel. 🚐💨

Everyone had warned us that Norway is not cheap. However, due to the currently favorable exchange rate, it was not too expensive. Since prices have also risen in our country, we did not find it excessively expensive. If you are interested, you can find a detailed cost breakdown as a photo.

Well, today we picked up our passports at the town hall 😄. Following the motto: After the vacation is before the vacation 🙃🙂🙃.

In late August, we are heading to Ireland 🇮🇪, visiting family 👨‍👩‍👧 🥰. There will be more to read about it here - promised!

Until then 😘
