Day 4: Seeing the lake

Sakradi is this corner beautiful! Today we rode across the Marche region on the smallest and often quite bumpy roads to Umbertide and then to Lake Trasimeno. 

Here we got rid of our luggage at the hotel and set off for a tour around the lake. The lake is only a maximum of 7 meters deep, so it's more like a huge pond. But it's wonderful to look at and lined with great little towns. Like Castiglione al Lago, which boasts a beautiful church dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene.

And what's better than ending the day with outstretched feet by the lake in the sunset? Nothing.
