On January 8th, we finally start for real - we take over our camper. The whole procedure, including all the paperwork to be able to drive to Argentina, takes some time.

The next day, one of the highlights of our journey is already waiting for us, the crossing of the Andes mountains via the pass 'Christ the Redeemer of the Andes' - a dream of Gerhard's since middle school.

The information about the drivability of the Chilean side is conflicting, which makes it even more exciting - but after a challenging part of the track with 4WD LOW, we finally reach the top - in the icy cold storm... The view from almost 4000 meters above sea level of the surrounding Andes mountains is amazing!
