The next morning and we slept well. There's a lot of noise at the campsite, so it's not difficult for us to get up.

Breakfast, farewell to the neighbors and off we went to Utrecht. As we have now noticed, you can usually park for free in the Netherlands on Sundays. So it wasn't difficult for us to get a free and shady parking space in the immediate vicinity of the center.

In Utrecht itself we were able to orientate ourselves quite quickly and walked to the Oudegracht. This winds its way around the old town of Utrecht. We were lucky and were able to go on one of the canal cruises straight away without having to wait.

The captain was a cheerful guy and, in addition to the usual tourist information, he entertained the passengers with little anecdotes. The journey took us comfortably to the old town within an hour. And at the very end, the captain cheerfully sang a song about Utrecht that is probably very well known in the Netherlands. At least we assume it is known, because the Dutch passengers sang along loudly. So with loud singing and lots of laughter we started again. A pretty clever and nice way to attract tourists and make them want to go on a boat trip.

Afterwards we went back and forth through Utrecht's old town. There are many small shops, cafés, studios and restaurants lined up here. These are often quite unusual. Not the usual tourist kitsch. Okay, but there isn't an abundance of that either.

Before we said goodbye to Utrecht to continue our journey, we stopped at one of the countless restaurants along the Oudegracht and ordered the sandwiches that are so typical here. Delicious! That was a nice ending.
