Directions to the Netherlands and Obelink

Last night we finally set off for the Netherlands. Our second vacation this year.

After we left home quite late, we still managed to make it past Kassel. In a small village there should be a hidden parking lot next to the swimming pool where you can park as a camper. But when we got there in the pitch black there were already a lot of campers there. We found a place and slept really well.

In the morning we discovered that more campers had actually arrived after us.

After a small breakfast we continued towards the Netherlands. Our first destination was Obelink. Europe's largest camping outfitter. And that's exactly how it was. Simply huge, you can find everything there from toilet paper to motorhomes. It extends over 3 floors and the parking space is also impressively large. With a new packing bag for the wedges, a few cutting boards and a can of W40 (according to my husband, much cheaper than in Germany) we decided to continue on to Utrecht. Here we first visited two very nice campsites. Unfortunately, these were already occupied. So we ended up stranded at the municipal campsite. This one shocked us quite a bit. For quite a bit of money, this place looks like a garbage dump. Overall unkempt and the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired.

Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. So I leave it to you and your imagination to imagine it 🙃
