This morning was all about sleeping in. Although that was already done by just before 8 AM. You can really feel the time difference. After all, we are 7 hours behind here. After an environmentally questionable breakfast with disposable dishes, we headed to Silver Beach. It was quite windy today, but we had blue skies and sunshine. We walked on the bridge towards the lighthouse. An older man offered to take a picture of us together. That was actually a great idea of his. The first picture had our heads partly cut off, but in the second one we were completely visible. The problem after the second picture was that just after the man took the photo, a massive wave crashed over us. At least I ended up completely soaked. Luckily, Mats had a spare t-shirt with him that I could put on. After visiting the beach, we drove back to the hotel to rest a bit.
After a short break, we went to the Krasl Art Center, where we were the only visitors. However, two staff members kept us entertained. It was really a nice conversation.
After a walk through the park 'on the Bluff' with many memorials for the fallen, we also visited the downtown area. St. Joseph is truly a nice little town, but it’s quite quiet here. We are currently sitting in front of a café, but there isn’t much to observe.
We had lunch at the Brevery Silver Beach. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t very good. The side salad wasn’t really fresh. And the patties of the burger were breaded pasta shells with cheese.
After lunch, we took a stroll on the beach during sunset. We had a great day in St. Joseph.
