Los Angeles - Summer, Sun, Sunshine

Finally, sunshine! It's great to lie on the beach and enjoy the sun after all the snow and cold weather, and in January! LA is totally different from New York, but just as great. I love the beaches the most, but that might be because I was craving sun and sea. Venice Beach is my favorite place here.

The hostel here is very unique, maybe because it's located in what's known as the ghetto, or because marijuana has been legalized in California! But that's probably why it feels like I'm really getting to know the city.

The people you meet here couldn't be more different. There are many homeless people, drug addicts, and crazy people. But then, of course, there are also the people you have so much fun with, who are crazy in a positive way, and who you will miss when the journey continues. Billy Joel's quote fits perfectly: 'I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun.' When I think about how friendly many homeless people were to me and how much I laughed with them, I can only confirm this quote.
