We took the first ferry from Gili Air to Gili Meno at 8:30 a.m. The crossing took about 20 minutes. Our accommodation was 50m away from the beach and looked beautiful.
We used the morning to circle the island, which took us a little over an hour. Along the way, we took a break at a nature reserve and a restaurant. The restaurant was really chill, with a swing by the sea and hammocks. Our chicken for dinner was freshly caught and slaughtered. Then we went to Turtle Point 🐢🐢🐢, which the island is known for. We found this attraction disappointing, with only three small pools 🐢 and nothing else. We expected more or a more humane treatment.
At noon, we wanted to go swimming, but unfortunately it rained and stormed so we slept instead. In the afternoon/evening, we had dinner by the sea again. A small restaurant with a young team who took turns playing the guitar and singing beautifully.
Gili Meno is the smallest and cleanest island, perfect for relaxation. However, we're getting pretty bored from all the doing nothing 🙃☺.
