We continued along the northern coast to the "Cathedral Beach": impressive rock bridges and caves at low tide. Then began the "Lighthouse Week". We drove far out to the "Faro de Cabo Ortegal" lighthouse on a small road. We arrived in bad weather and fading light. When another camper showed up later, we felt a bit less lonely :-)

Over 600-meter-high cliffs, also decorated with wind turbines, we drove to a place of pilgrimage. Water from all 3 tubes of the well is said to have cured various diseases (this is what 2 Spaniards, who both lived in Bern for several decades, told us independently of each other).

After a day at the beach near Ferrol, we admired the oldest lighthouse still in operation from Roman times in A Coruna in summer temperatures: "Torre Hercules".

We continued to the (almost) westernmost point of mainland Spain on the Costa Muerte (Death Coast, because ships have been wrecked there until modern times). We stayed at the "Cabo Fisterra" lighthouse for 2 nights, where we experienced sunrise, sunset, and a moderate storm in the camper (we were afraid that a gust would blow us off the chocks placed under the wheels).

The next morning we left the coast and drove through the inland of Spain. First stop in "Santiago de Compostela", where we met the pilgrims - each marked with a seashell on their backpacks - in hordes.
