In Fremantle, we still have plenty of time for an afternoon exploration. It is a pretty historic harbor town with restored colonial-style buildings. After finding a parking space, we first look for the "Cappuccino Strip", a street with numerous cafes and restaurants. We are thirsty for coffee! We settle down at one of the street cafes and enjoy our Sunday afternoon coffee.
Then we continue strolling through the streets to the harbor.
Here, there are numerous seafood restaurants that offer freshly caught fish.
But then we have to go back because the suitcases for the return flight still need to be packed.
In the evening, Gisela and Günther invite us to a farewell dinner at the Waterfront as a thank you for the trip preparations. We toast to a successful and overall well-run journey. This is a successful conclusion to the journey.

Now the time has come, the 5 weeks have flown by and today we say goodbye to Western Australia. A final half-hour drive takes us to Perth Airport, where we easily and quickly return our Toyota to Hertz. On our "Southern Tour", we covered an additional 2,650 km, bringing the total rental car journey to 7,261 kilometers, which largely corresponds to our estimate in the travel planning. We were able to avoid accidents and damage, and the four tire punctures in the Outback remain the only excitement.
At the airport, the paths of the 4 oldytravellers now separate, as Gisela and Günther fly out of Perth 2 hours earlier than the two of us to Munich on their return flight.
But both couples will transfer again in Singapore and will arrive in Germany almost at the same time. Everything else will go as planned and on time until we are back home.
