Hello ππΎ
First of all, Happy New Year to all of you, we hope you had a good start π₯³π.
Our New Year's Eve was definitely something different this year π .
We went to the KLCC Park at 6 p.m. - we didn't know how crowded it would be. But it already looked like rain and thunderstorm. Luckily, Lara remembered to buy umbrellas. We really needed them π. It was pouring rain. But it stopped at 10 p.m., thank god ππ½. Then a Dutch girl named Lara joined us. She was nice and just as clueless about how everything would go as we were. But she spoke German βπΎπ.
They had a big setup in KLCC Park, with a stage where a DJ and various singers performed. But let's be honest, the show was more sleep-inducing than cool until midnight π€¦π½ββπ. But the fireworks were really impressive. However, no one congratulates each other here, not like in our country. We went back to the hotel at 1 a.m. It was a 2 km walk through a crazy crowd. And to make matters worse, we really needed to use the bathroom because there were no toilets in the park π€¦π½ββπ.
The next day, we slept in and didn't leave the hotel until 1 p.m. We felt like a truck had run over us, even though we didn't drink anything - thanks for nothing.
Then we went to eat and went to Times Square (yes, it's really called that). It's a huge shopping center. And when we say huge, we mean huge enough to get lost in it. There was even an amusement park integrated in the mall. With a real roller coaster π. Asians sometimes have some crazy ideas when it comes to things like this π.
We spent our day there and then went back to the hotel. We were so tired that we just ate something and went to our room. And we still had to pack because we were heading to Langkawi today.
The taxi to the airport arrived at 11:15 a.m. The airport is about 60 km from Kuala Lumpur, so quite a drive π€¦π½ββ. But of course, our flight was delayed - we were already told about it by Air Asia, so no surprise.
We arrived in Langkawi at 5 p.m. and took a taxi to the hotel. The resort here is really nice, we have a pool and our own bungalows. However, we're really far from the city center. But it's okay, we ate and did some shopping before, and now we're sitting by the pool with beer and cookies π€π.
Enjoy your snow, see you soon π₯³.
