Campervan Tour 2014: Ardèche Gorge

Our day began with breakfast outdoors. Then a car came and we got scared of it. But He was obviously more scared of us because he quickly drove away. Then we set off, mostly on country roads. Today, the journey was definitely our destination.

The navigation system always calculated the shortest route for us, so we drove up a very narrow road. We had an amazing view as we went from 120 meters to 700 meters. Dad almost freaked out. We got out at the top and enjoyed the view and had lunch at a hiking parking lot. Just as we finished, it started raining and we continued driving. This time along the Ardèche, a river. That means the road was high up on the cliff and you could see down to the river. We stopped about 7 times just to look and it was drizzling every time.

Then we looked for a campsite, which wasn't easy. It wasn't until the third one we went to that we could stay. That evening we cooked noodles and had long family conversations under the awning.
