06/01/17: Day 2 in Gyokuzo-in Temple

Fair, 27 degrees, hot, evening storm and thunderstorm.

Today we explored the area in Mount Shigisan, the highest point at 437 meters in height, walking through forests, jungles, and open spaces, all in the heat and with plenty of water but no food except for a bag of rice crackers intended for the evening. The end of the hike was Osaka. After returning to the temple, we enjoyed a hot bath in the onsen, 43 degrees. It was just what we needed after the exhausting hike.

🍱 It's amazing that even in the most remote areas, there are unexpected drink vending machines and toilets.
