Early in the morning at six we get up. We both slept wonderfully under the olive trees. I fell asleep so quickly, I didn't even know anymore how...
First, I enjoy the sunrise. Then we cook milk as usual to soak the muesli.
Packed and cleaned, we leave at half past seven.
Around nine, we aim for an osteria. They have delicious Berliner 'con crema'. In addition, a caffe americano, which is an espresso in a large cup and a small jug of hot water to pour over it. Both taste wonderful.
In a small village shop, we stock up on prosciutto and rolls.
So far, the tour has been easygoing and cozy. Suddenly, there is an ascent and then we find ourselves in a picturesque village with a tower called 'Asolo', a hidden gem! Beautiful promenade with little shops.
We bypass a planned but pointless 'athletic challenge' for us, i.e. several ascents.
We have lunch by a canal. I cook a risotto (onions, white wine, ...) while the risotto simmers, I have time to repair my damaged stand once again. The weight is probably just too much...
The ride mostly takes us along a canal, which is very pleasant!
We arrive in Treviso after 2 p.m. Unfortunately, we still have to go several kilometers to the hotel (!!!).
Once we arrive at the hotel, we need a secure parking space for our bikes. There is one in the basement. So we carry the bike down the stairs.
The room is minimally equipped, corresponding to the price (40 EUR). We manage to get the air conditioning to ventilate, but nothing more. Maybe it will work during the night...
Since I have smashed my Tolino (ebook reader), I am looking for a new one. I hope to find it at the MediaMarkt next door. They only have a 'Kobo' or 'Kindle'. So no luck.
In the evening, we treat ourselves to pizza from a stone oven. Very well made and the pizzaiolo comes by personally!
It's very hot at night. The air conditioning doesn't work. Against our better judgment, we open the shutters at two in the morning...
