Traveling by high-speed train in China is always a pleasure. We are traveling to Hangzhou in the south of the country. We cover the 1,100 kilometers in 4 hours and 53 minutes. That is farther than the distance from Paris to Berlin, for which the Deutsche Bahn is celebrating a new connection starting in December with a travel time of 8 hours in the German press. The normal speed on the open track to Hangzhou for us is 300 km/h. As the train departs from Jinan station precisely at 11:34 a.m., I demonstrate this in the following video: https://youtu.be/cCfsdhzi2VA . Each car is normally equipped with a water dispenser for hot water. I definitely wanted to try a special service: food ordering at a restaurant during a stop. In the app of the railway company, you select the station, which for me was Xuzhou. Then you choose the restaurant and the meal. Since the app knows the car and seat number, the food is delivered by the train staff to your seat. In the app, you can even track the delivery. Shortly after Xuzhou, our hot meal is delivered, along with that of many other passengers who also used this service. The delivery to the train only cost one euro, so we were charged a total of 16 euros for 3 meals. I am impressed by this service.
