I woke up in the Sportsclub cabin, packed my belongings and continued hiking. I passed through a small farming village on a small fjord. I walked along a road, tracing the edge of the fjord. I asked a farmer on horseback how to get back on the trail. She pointed me in the right direction and I followed her instructions. Along the way, I found a field of chanterelle mushrooms and started collecting them. Chanterelles have a bright, toxic yellow color in their fresh form and can be recognized by their characteristic smell and gills that extend all the way to the stem, unlike false chanterelles. I picked a whole bag and continued hiking, leaving some mushrooms behind to allow the field to recover.
I climbed back up to the plateau. Along a moorland, I came to a lake. There, I saw a shortcut to the next cabin on my map. I searched for it for what felt like an eternity until I had to give up. My legs and arms were cut by the juniper bushes on the uneven ground, and I was exhausted from trudging through the rough terrain. So, I set up my camp by the lake and went swimming. In the water, I could see ominous clouds in the sky and hurried back to the shore. I set up my hammock and the corresponding tarp and waited there with my book until the shower passed. Then, I cooked a pre-packaged rice with spicy seasoning, which I enhanced with my fresh mushrooms. Well-nourished, I went to bed.
