This morning we first had the opportunity to sleep in! Unfortunately, we were not awakened by the sun, but by the sound of rain. Each of us had the morning to inspect the pool, work out in the fitness room, and enjoy a delicious breakfast. At 10:30 am, we gathered for a meeting to discuss the course of the next two days and Mr. Kammel gave an initial review of the trip. Result: Everything is going according to plan so far! :)
At 12:00 noon, we then drove to the Voith company grounds located about 25 kilometers outside the city. We were welcomed with a delicious snack! After a short rehearsal, we headed towards the stage, where we first listened to a small orchestra and then a children's choir. These children come from the poorer neighborhoods of the city and have the opportunity to learn an instrument or sing in a choir thanks to Voith. This was followed by our own performance of about 30 minutes. The folk song 'Loreley' by Friedrich Silcher and the Oktoberfest song 'Rock mi' were particularly well received by the Brazilians.
At 5:30 pm, we continued to the 'Paróqua São Luis Gonzaga' church, where the concert began at 8:30 pm after another short rehearsal. First, we sang some pieces from our repertoire, and then the 'Vozespaulistanas', the New Chamber Choir, and the 'Orquestra Sinfõnica da Fundação das Artes de São Caetano do Sul' performed the coronation mass that we had rehearsed the night before. We received enthusiastic applause and standing ovations for that. Afterward, we all went to enjoy a delicious dinner, which was a beautiful end to the day.
